Play time with Silver Labs

We made a quick trip to Duncan, the town, for Christmas with the Jones (my mother-in-law's family). We always have a good time there. Duncan Dog really enjoys running in Gramp and KK's backyard. Duncan got to play with his best girlfriend Maxi.

She is faster than Duncan.

Weekend Fun

It's always nice to have a weekend home with no football games to attend and no real plans. This was one of those weekends.

Friday night, we made our own cinna-pie. You know, like a dessert pizza.

We love Duncan Dog. And we are pretty sure he loves us.

Saturday, Jordan and Trey came over for dinner and some fireside fun. It was a very windy evening, but we managed to keep the fire going.

Duncan wanted to follow up him; Jack had to restrain him.

It was a wonderful weekend. Soon, our weekends will be filled with more football, holiday gatherings and holiday decorating.

Wonderful Weekend

We are having such a wonderful weekend. We find ourselves extremely busy most weeks and this was just the weekend we needed to get recharged.

Friday night, we attended a couples shower for a our friends in our small group. They are getting married next weekend, but we unfortnately can't go. We are so exicted for them and we loved celebrated with them.

Saturday, we headed to Norman. We took my car to the dealer for some routine maintenance. While it was in the shop, we headed to the pool. It was smokin' hot - the heat got to Duncan Dog and we had to end his day of swimming early. He was bummed, but he wasn't feeling well, so a nap was welcomed. We finished out Saturday with a wedding of family friends of Jack's. What a great wedding! Both the bride and groom are from Norman, plus the bride is a Kappa, so we knew tons of people. In fact, Jack's cousin was a bridesmaid, while his other cousin on the other side of the family was in attendance, and my cousin was there! Only in Norman.  Here are some pictures:

Now it's Sunday and we are still enjoying this weekend. We have another busy week ahead of us, so recharge, recharge, recharge!

Sunday Dinner

After weeks of staring at our grill, sending good vibes to it's inner beings in hopes it would start working, we finally decided we would (and by "we" I really mean Jack) go get a part from Sears in hopes it would correct the issue.

It did. Thank goodness, because we were tried of pan grilling everything.

So, to welcome it back, we grilled chicken and potatoes!

My wonderful mother in law bought Jack and I magazine cookbook all about chicken - my favorite meat ever. In there, was grilled potatoes - we thought it was a perfect night to try something new for potatoes - my favorite side dish.

We will definately be grilling more potatoes in the neat future.

Patio Furnitue!

After many months of planning and looking, we finally purchased patio furniture!

When it's not 105 degrees, we will have you over!

The cushions are a golden/yellow color. The loveseats came with
coordinating red and gold/yellow pillows.

We are so happy to have somewhere to sit in the backyard now. We have already decided the cushions will remain in the garage until we are sitting on them. This will prevent Duncan from being tempted from A) chewing on the pillows/cushion, trying to find the stuffing and/or B) taking a nap on the love seats while we are gone, getting his doggie slobber and doggie sweats on it.

We got a pool!!

we have been waiting for this day for several weeks!

 Don't even think about inviting yourself over to enjoy this pool with us....

It's just a dog pool for Duncan.

 With these ultra hot Oklahoma tempatures, we haven't been leaving Duncan outside all day. We try to use our lunch break to let him inside to cool off for the afternoon, but sometimes, our schedules don't allow us to leave work for an extended time. Next  best solution - a dog pool!

Duncan loves anything to do with water.

He jumps in and out of the pool, just like he does at the real pools.

We hope he will learn that it is really just to help cool him off during these hot hot days.

To relax, stay cool and have a some fun.

We hope this pool will last us more than a week. If not, we won't be horribly upset as it wasn't a pricey investment.

How does your garden grow?

It's with a sad heart to announce our cilantro is gone. It was knocked over by the one and only Duncan.

 Feel free to stop by a view his master piece, displayed on our concrete. Cilantro and Basil donations will be accepted at the door.

The Garden

I'm sure some of you are constantly wondering "How is the garden?!". We find ourselves asking the same question to each other. You just never know what could happen when Duncan is in charge.

I'm happy to say the tomatoes are looking good!

And, also happy to saw the cilantro is looking great!

I regret to inform you the basil did not make the Duncan Uprooting and Playing with the Pot Scandal. 

I'm sorry basil. We tried. You must smell good to Duncan Dog.

I'd imagine we will plant more basil. Probably this weekend. We will probably also clean the pot from evidence of abuse (so the new basil doesn't get scared).

We will miss you basil... until we plant more this weekend.

Duncan and his awesome treat!

Duncan was introduced to USDA Prime!

We let him have some tastes of Jack's ribeye bone.

He loved pulling the leftover meat off the bone.

He loved this bone. Eyes closed, enjoying the tastes!

We watched him the entire time since we weren't 100% sure meat bones are okay for dogs. We watched him over the next few days and he seems to be fine! He got a real treat; he now knows USDA Prime Meat.
