Duncan's Night

We got a little taste of having a little baby in the house last night. I suddenly had to go to the bathroom at 2am. While in there, I start hearing Duncan crying. It's not normal for our big boy to cry. I tell Jack and he hops out of bed, runs to Duncan crate, and they run down the hall to the backyard..... yup - Duncan had to go number 2... really bad. Jack stayed up with him for an hour while Duncan's tummy was upset. Duncan got to sleep in his crate in our room for the rest of the night. Poor puppy.

I took some time off work to take him the vet. We really don't want another night of really bad number 2's. It was my first time to take him to the vet by myself and we had a great trip! He was polite (well, he only barked at one family), let a little girl pet him, sat next to me (and even laid down!), and didn't number 1 on anything! He got a shot and some pills to start taking tomorrow. He is such a brave boy!

Happy Monday!

Here are a few pictures from Jack's iPhone (it's about time we got these great pictures off the phone!).

A boot o beer. This darn boot doesn't fit in the dishwasher well.
(I think this is a restaurant in Norman)

The trouble maker, Duncan Dog, as a puppy.
(He still loves shredding paper towels)

Taking a napper in Aunt Jordan's car.
(I think we cleaned the hair and slobber out after we used her car)

Sleeping boys.
(Duncan didn't stay still much longer after the picture)

Sleeping away.
(It appears in the picture I am missing an arm...)

Dessert Food

For small group, we made fajitas and sopapilla cheesecake to go along with our mexican night!

Jack grilled the steak and chicken - he even sauted peppers and onions!

The sopapilla cheesecake - super easy and delicious!

You can find the recipe here: Sopapilla Cheesecake

Dunky!

Some pictures of our favorite silver lab!
Duncan likes to lay on the back of the couch, like small dogs dog.

He also thinks he is a little puppy.

Celebration!!

What a party! Alicia hosted family and friends for the baptisms of Ava, Maggie and Henry - Plus we celebrated Henry's First Birthday (July 28) and Ava's Seventh Birthday (August 25). Plus Plus - Scotty just turned FORTY and it was Scotty's stepmom's birthday... whew!
Cake, Cupcakes, Brownies and Ice Cream!

Maggie enjoying some juice!

 Happy Birthday Ava and Karen!
Henry and Scotty almost share a birthday - just one day apart!

His birthday hat didn't quite fit....

Success!

My Grandma, with her son, her granddaughter, and her great-grandkids.

Pizza Night!

Jack and I recently purchased the PizzaQue from our favorite store, Williams-Sonoma. The PizzaQue is awesome! You can make pizzas on the grill and/or the oven!

Jack made the dough from scratch; it was a delicious wheat dough! He put all sorts of veggies and meat on his pizza.
Where as mine was simple; just cheese!
(Ha, it looks like a baguette! Jack squeezed both our pizzas on the stone at the same time.)

It was delicious! We can't wait to make more pizzas!

New Food!

Jack and I have had fun trying new cooking creations! Here are a few things we have tried:

Ebelskivers
Ebelskivers are filled pancakes. Almost bite size too! We filled our ebelskivers with strawberries and blueberries! We have a special pan that you make them in - you can read more about them here: Ebelskivers

Later that day, I made some flourless chocolate cupcakes with ice cream as icing!! It was my first experience baking these and they turned out very good! I recieved great reviews from Jack, Jordan and Trey.
Some of the cupcakes became unique in shape.. still delicious!

Yummy in our tummies!

Backyard Events

I look outside one afternoon and see this squirrel...

I thought he had fallen from the tree.... but as soon as I got closer, he scurried away.

He just wants to be held!

Please, don't tell Duncan he is not a lap dog. It will crush him.
